Frozen Wheyless

Whether you’re in search of a cool treat on a hot day; something healthy to give the kids after school or you just have a hankering for ice cream, we know that there are times when nothing but a cold, sweet, something yummy will hit the spot! So, here are a few easy and delicious recipes for you to enjoy!

Easy Frozen Iced Coffee

Have an ice-cream maker? Dig it out and prep it for use! This is the easiest way to turn your Wheyless shake into iced coffee ice cream.

Ingredients

200ml full cream milk (chill in the freezer for 10-20 mins)
2 scoops Iced Coffee Wheyless
1 tablespoon full fat, unsweetened Greek Yoghurt

Method

  • Blend or shake the milk, yoghurt and Wheyless powder together.
  • Pour the smoothie mix into the ice cream maker and churn until you get the desired consistency.

Enjoy!

* TIP:  For a stronger coffee flavour, add a chilled shot of espresso or dissolve a teaspoon of instant coffee in a tablespoon boiling water; chill before blending with the other ingredients.

Raspberry Chia Pops

Ingredients

200ml full cream milk or coconut milk
1 tablespoon chia seeds
2 scoops Strawberries and Cream Wheyless
1/2 cup frozen raspberries

Method

  • Soak the chia seeds in your milk of choice for 30 minutes.
  • Blend the milk/chia mix with the frozen raspberries and Wheyless powder
  • Pour into ice block moulds and place in freezer
  • Freeze for approximately four* hours depending on the size of the moulds you use.

*TIP:  Add paddle pop sticks 30 mins into freezing to allow them to stay upright.

  • Blend ingredients together
  • Pour into ice-cream moulds and place in freezer
  • Freeze for approximately four* hours depending on size of moulds used.

Quick and Easy Berry Pops

These are perfect for anyone who doesn't have a blender or just wants to avoid washing it up!

Simply shake up your favourite Wheyless with milk and perhaps a dollop of yoghurt for extra creaminess, pour into moulds and drop some berries into the mixture. If you want to be a little bit fancy, half fill the mould, add blueberries and freeze for 30 mins then fill the remainder adding raspberries and freeze again.

There are so many fantastic ice block moulds available now - including some shaped like rockets, owls, frogs, ice-cream cones and more, but remember you don't need to use any fancy.  Paper or plastic cups can do the job and teaspoons will work fine as a substitute for paddle pop sticks.

Remember that the simplest and quickest frozen treats can be good ol' fruit. Pop some grapes, banana or watermelon in the freezer for 10 - 30 mins and enjoy!
